The Logistics Manager is responsible for the distribution of Messer owned assets, consumable products and management of the Rental Division logistic team members. 
What You Will Do: 
  • Drive Messer Safety Culture 
  • Develop and maintain schedules for inbound and outbound shipments 
  • Manage dispatcher, drivers and trucking schedule to ensure alignment with Division objectives 
  • Distribute daily communication to all Messer Regions 
  • Work with the Fleet team to maximize utilization of Messer owned assets, including sub-rent swaps 
  • Collaborate with Procurement to make the most efficient and cost-effective shipping decisions 
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships; hold vendors accountable to Messer safety and compliance programs 
  • Remain current on market freight trends and negotiates shipping rates with external haulers 
  • Analyze and make recommendations regarding fleet size and the storage of owned assets  
  • Responsible for inventory placement/efficiency of RD owned facilities 
  • Responsible for building maintenance and exterior cleanliness of RD owned facilities 
  • Maintain and update management technology Wynne Systems 
  • Develop financial tools to evaluate costs, reports findings and makes recommendations for areas needing improvement 
  • Be willing to achieve ASCM certifications 
  • Maintain vehicle and driver DOT compliance 
  • Establish and maintain vehicle and driver safety protocols in alignment with corporate and industry standards and requirements  
  • Coordinates with Fleet to maintain maintenance compliance on Messer owned and operated delivery vehicles   
  
What You Will Bring: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Business, etc.) 
  • 7+ years of logistics experience in commercial construction, manufacturing, or distribution environment 
  • Strong organizational, time-management, interpersonal, verbal, written, and communication skills
